Twenty-four years after the tragic school shooting at Columbine High School, we continue to search for effective responses to this continuing national challenge. With threat assessment teams now being mandated in many states – including Tennessee and Virginia – an in-depth look at the rationale, evidence-base and core practices associated with the threat assessment process is important.

Former Columbine principal and nationally recognized school safety professional, Frank DeAngelis, will kick off this seminar by providing leadership lessons he has identified through his lived experience. He will be joined by a variety of state and local practitioners as we take a critical look at core practices and the resources available to support threat assessment as an essential element of a comprehensive school safety strategy.
