Name
AEDs, Bleed Kits, and First Aid Kits: How to Use Your School’s Emergency Resources
Description

Emergency preparedness in Utah schools has shifted from "best practice" to "legal mandate." With the implementation of S.B. 244 and H.B. 40, school safety professionals and administrators are now responsible for a sophisticated network of life-saving hardware and rigorous training protocols.
This session provides a comprehensive breakdown of the specialized equipment and compliance standards required to secure our schools. We will move beyond the theory of school safety to the practical application of the tools that save lives during the "critical gap"—those initial minutes before EMS arrives. Participants will leave with a clear roadmap for achieving full compliance with Utah’s 2025-2029 safety benchmarks, ensuring their schools are equipped, trained, and funded to handle cardiac and trauma emergencies.
