Kendra Muir is a Registered Nurse and seasoned public health and school nursing expert with over 20 years of experience in Utah. Her career began in pediatrics at Primary Children’s Hospital before she transitioned to school nursing in 2007 with the Tooele County School District. Kendra later expanded her impact at the Tooele County Health Department as the Family and Community Health Director, where she provided strategic oversight for both the health department’s nursing staff and its diverse public health programs.
For the past five years, she has served as the School Nursing Wellness Specialist at the Utah State Board of Education. Kendra holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing as well as a Master of Health Leadership, and she is a Nationally Certified School Nurse (NCSN) and American Red Cross certified CPR Instructor.
She is a dedicated leader in her field, currently serving as a member of the Utah Health Workforce Advisory Council and as a board member for the Utah School Nurses Association (USNA). At the national level, she remains an active member of both the National Association of School Nurses (NASN) and the National Association of State School Nurse Consultants (NASSNC), where she contributes to multiple committees. Through her extensive clinical background and administrative leadership, Kendra continues to be a driving force in advancing the health and wellness of students and communities across the state.
