Sami Bushnell, BSN, RN, NCSN, is a Registered Nurse in Utah and currently serves as the Utah State School Nurse Consultant with the Utah Department of Health and Human Services. Her professional foundation is built on extensive clinical experience, including her time as a charge nurse at Primary Children’s Hospital, where she developed a deep expertise in pediatric care. Today, Sami leverages that background to support school nurses across the state through specialized training, collaboration, and the creation of practical, evidence-based resources. Her work is centered on helping schools build safe, effective health services that allow students to thrive, ensuring that nurses are fully supported in their vital roles within the educational setting.

Beyond her state-level leadership, Sami is a prominent voice in the national school nursing community. She serves as an board member for the Utah School Nurses Association (USNA) and contributes her technical expertise as a Data Coordinator for the National Association of School Nurses (NASN).
