Pathways for Prevention Modules
Credit Hours*
20 Minutes
Description

Students experience various forms and degrees of trauma due to death, illness, crisis, and loss, which often affect behavioral, social-emotional, and academic growth. If left unrecognized and untreated, these effects can lead to harmful behaviors. In this module, Michele Gay, co-founder and executive director of Safe and Sound Schools, and Ben Fernandez, lead school psychologist, will provide insights on how to identify traumatic events, experiences, and their effects. Key considerations for implementing a trauma-informed approach within a multi-tiered system of support will be highlighted, along with tools to apply the concepts learned.
