Bobby was born and raised in McEwen, Tennessee and has spent the majority of his adult years as a first responder, serving the residents of Humphreys County. He began his career in public service as a member of the McEwen Fire Department in 1986, and served as the Assistant Chief from 2000-2016. Beginning in 1995, until his retirement in 2016, he served dually with the McEwen Fire Department and Humphreys County Fire Department. During this time span he also became a TN Certified Medical First Responder. In 2006, Bobby became the Humphreys County 911 Director, a position he still holds today. Despite retiring from fire service in 2016, Bobby agreed to accept an appointment as Humphreys County Fire Chief, serving from 2019- 2022 before making the decision to retire permanently.
