Especially Safe: An Inclusive Approach to Safety Preparedness in Educational Settings
Description
Join us as we seek to help safety planning teams address the inclusive safety and security needs of all members of the school community. Learn how you can plan and prepare, and teach and train to meet the special needs of students, staff, and visitors—from developmental disabilities to communication challenges, medical needs to mobility challenges, and more. This session will also feature a fireside chat-style conversation with Michele Gay, co-founder and executive director of Safe and Sound Schools, and Jeff Snyder, autism and neurodiversity advocate, who will discuss their lived experiences that highlight the challenges and practical solutions to better serve individuals with special needs in school safety.
