Safer Schools Together will be providing a Digital Threat Assessment® (DTA®) training where attendees will become certified in DTA® as they learn how to establish a Digital Behavioral Baseline through a Safety / Threat Assessment lens. This full-day session (8:00 am - 4:00 pm local time) will include the application of principles of Behavioral Threat Assessment to DTA®, as well as a special segment from Dr. Angi Meyer.

An Introduction to Using Digital Leakage to Strengthen Threat Assessment in Schools
Dr. Angi Meyer

Drawing from emerging research and real-world practice, attendees will learn how to integrate digital information into multidisciplinary threat assessment, balance safety with privacy, and strengthen early intervention efforts in K–12 schools.

Additional Topics Include

  • Identify the digital behavioral baseline of individuals on the pathway to violence and assess the language of online threat-related behavior 

  • Search for commonly used platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, and Snapchat 

  • Understand best practices for online navigation and ensuring privacy safeguards 

  • Use law enforcement guides to request user-identifying information (preservation and production orders) 

  • Utilize Boolean operators, people search engines, and access cached data 

  • Validate the source of images and video
