Description

SafeUT is Utah’s statewide, free, and confidential crisis support and safety reporting resource available 24/7, 365 days a year. Staffed by licensed mental health professionals, SafeUT provides real-time chat, tip reporting, and crisis support for students, parents, educators, and school communities. This session will explore how SafeUT strengthens school safety systems by providing early intervention for concerns such as suicide, bullying, emotional distress, and potential school threats. Participants will gain a clear understanding of how SafeUT integrates into existing school safety protocols, how tips and chats are triaged by clinicians, and how designated contacts, School Resource Officers, and school safety teams collaborate to respond effectively.

Along with supporting students, the presentation will showcase how SafeUT boosts a complete safety framework by promoting help-seeking behavior, raising awareness of reporting options, and ensuring prompt action on imminent risk concerns. The session will also introduce SafeUT Frontline, which links law enforcement, fire and EMS, corrections, and public safety personnel and their families with licensed clinicians who understand the unique challenges of frontline professions. Attendees will gain practical insights into how SafeUT acts as a proactive, trusted partner in fostering safer schools and healthier communities.
