Matt Beaudry is a Protective Security Advisor (PSA) for the Department of Homeland Security’s Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA).
PSAs are resiliency and security subject matter experts who engage with government and private sector to protect the nation’s critical infrastructure. He coordinates resources from CISA and other DHS agencies to assist with understanding and managing both cyber and physical security risk and to build increased resilience to disruption.
He provides assessments to identify security gaps and potential vulnerabilities, focusing on mitigation solutions. He also coordinates training and exercise resources and is a vital link between public and private sector organizations seeking to communicate and work with DHS and CISA across all topics related to infrastructure security.
He has counterparts in Utah that specialize in cybersecurity, chemical security, and emergency communications for government and public safety. This Utah cadre is part of the six-state Region 8 team that also includes Wyoming, Colorado, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Montana.
Prior to his current role with CISA, Matt worked 10 years at the Utah Division of Emergency Management. He managed the Utah Public Private Partnership (UP3) program, leading the mission to connect Utah’s critical infrastructure owners and operators with public safety partners to build whole community resilience.
His first career was in the Fire Service, retiring as a Captain from Provo Fire and Rescue. He is a past instructor at Utah Valley University and holds degrees in Emergency Services Management and Communications.
