Jeff Hicks is retired from the Blount County Sheriff’s Office after 28 years of service. The last 25 years have been spent working with law enforcement and educators to improve school safety across Tennessee and the United States. In his career he has served as the Vice President and the President of the Tennessee School Resource Officers Association. For several years and currently, Jeff has been an adjunct instructor for the University of Tennessee Institute for Public Service. In 2018 he was appointed to the Governor’s School Safety Working Group. He is a nationally published author on school safety and worked with districts throughout the United States. He is currently serving as the school safety mentor for the Tennessee Department of Education.
