A proud product of Lake County Schools, Barry also spent the majority of his 46 year professional career there. He taught middle grades and served as Supervisor of Instruction and Federal Programs and later as Director of Schools.

Before joining the TOSS staff in 2014, Barry served for several years as Executive Director of Instructional Leadership for the Tennessee Department of Education. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Learning Forward Foundation. There are five generations of educators in the Olhausen family, dating back to 1912. Barry continually strives to improve his slow, plodding, running pace with a lot of help from his running group, Happy Running People.
