Brian Gard has been the Director of Safety & Health for National Heritage Academies for 10 years. He oversees 100 K-12 public charter schools in 9 states and serves on State of Michigan School Safety Commission. Gard was the runner up for Director of the Year award from Campus Safety Magazine. Prior to his career at NHA, Gard served as a police officer for 12 years at Grand Rapids Police Department, where he spent 5 years on SRT, served in the training bureau, patrol, and other areas. Gard holds a Master of Management from Aquinas.
