Mike Matranga is a nationally recognized security strategist, former U.S. Secret Service Special Agent, and the Founder & Chief Executive Officer of M6 Global Defense, a Houston-based firm that delivers cutting-edge protective intelligence, risk-management, and emergency-preparedness solutions to K-12 districts, universities, Fortune-class corporations, petrochemical facilities, and high-net-worth clients around the world. Under Mike’s leadership, M6 draws on more than 600 years of combined military, federal law-enforcement, and private-sector experience to provide turnkey “white-glove” services—from technical-security counter-measures and critical-infrastructure assessments to executive-protection training and advanced medical planning.

Before launching M6 Global Defense in 2019, Mike served as Executive Director of Security & School Safety for Texas City ISD, where he conceived and executed one of the highest-rated K-12 security programs in the United States, earning top-five national rankings and influencing the passage of Texas Senate Bill 11, the state’s landmark school-security mandate. His district-wide Emergency Action Plan, pioneering FirstNet priority-communications program, and multidisciplinary threat-assessment teams are now considered industry benchmarks.

Mike’s two-decade federal career includes assignments as a Special Agent on the U.S. Secret Service Presidential Protective Division, Assistant Team Leader on the elite Counter Assault Team, and a BLM Special Agent / FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force Officer. He conducted high-profile investigations, coordinated security for 28 countries, and provided tactical support during the Route 91 Harvest Festival mass-casualty incident. Mike held a Top-Secret/SCI clearance and has testified as a subject-matter expert before multiple Texas Senate panels.

A sought-after commentator, Mike has appeared on CNN, FOX News, MSNBC, NewsNation, The Wall Street Journal, WIRED, PBS, and numerous podcasts, and he keynotes national conferences for AT&T FirstNet, the Texas School Safety Center, the FBI National Academy, and Raptor Technologies. He currently sits on advisory boards for ZeroNow’s National Council for School Safety Directors (Vice-Chair) and Total Executive Security, and he served as a former elected Trustee at Large for Texas City ISD.
