Kathy Martinez-Prather is the Director of the Texas School Safety Center at Texas State University. Kathy has over 10 years of experience working with public schools related to training and research in school safety. Ms. Martinez-Prather has published research in the Criminal Justice Policy Review, Journal of Qualitative Criminal Justice and Criminology, and the International Journal of Cyber Criminology in the areas of school-based policing and teen sexting. Kathy has a Master’s degree in Criminal Justice and is currently finishing her Ph.D. at Texas State University in the School of Criminal Justice. Her research interests include school-based policing, exclusionary discipline practices in schools, and school safety-based policy.
