Jill Renihan is recently retired from more than 30 years of service in the public education sector all with Hernando County School District in central Florida. Jill served the district in many roles including special educator, mental health coordinator, school-based administrator at all levels, and then as a district administrator. Ms. Renihan was tapped to lead the district’s security efforts following the attack at Marjorie Stoneman Douglass High School in 2018.

As a Certified School Safety Specialist, Jill was instrumental in establishing the district’s first Office of Safe Schools in 2018. Under her leadership, schools implemented advanced safety protocols, developed recurring professional safety trainings and adopted new crisis management tools earning the district recognition by state safety leaders and attention from national media outlets. Throughout her tenure as Director of Safe Schools, Jill was also the key driver in helping the district move from a contractual relationship with local law enforcement to, what is now, a shared working partnership between both agencies. Jill established relationships with quality vendor partners to integrate effective stand-alone solutions, strengthening school and district safety systems.

Jill has now joined Axis Communications as its Education Segment Development Manager where she will focus her efforts on strengthening school safety and security for schools and districts across the Americas.
