Tracing the Pathway to Violence: Assessing Threatening Behavior Through Digital Leakage
Description

With nearly 90% of today's threats being communicated digitally, an accurate assessment of risk cannot be determined without understanding a threat maker’s digital behavioral baseline.

Safer Schools Together (SST)’s Digital Threat Assessment (DTA) training provides participants with direct skills and tools that can be utilized immediately by your Safety/Threat Assessment (S/TA) teams to identify if an individual is on the pathway to violence, homicide, suicide, radicalization, or gang associated behavior.

Through this interactive training, participants will learn how to utilize the skills and tools used by SST’s Threat Analysts when handling recent case scenarios. In walking through these scenarios, you will learn how to identify digital leakage, check to see if the individual has access to the means to carry out a threat, and proactively reduce the potential of violence within your community.

Objectives:

  • To identify the digital behavioral baseline of individuals on the pathway to violence
  • To assess the language of online threat-related behavior
  • Key information for Safety/Threat Assessment teams - digital trends, language, and new ways that subjects of concern communicate online
