Nancy Becker Bennett is the Division Director of the Grants and Community Services Division (GCSD) at the Michigan State Police (MSP) where she is responsible for
providing statewide leadership and oversight to MSP’s writing, coordination, and implementation of federal, state, and private grants available to criminal justice agencies.
In addition, the GCSD provides support to MSP’s Community Service Troopers, coordinates statewide prevention and outreach activities, houses the Office of School Safety, and oversees the management of MSP’s facilities and distribution center. Nancy has worked in grants management, program development and implementation, and community policing and engagement since 1994; as well as school safety issues since 2012. She has a bachelor’s degree in Sociology from the University of Michigan, and a master’s degree in Justice, with a concentration in Law Enforcement, from the American University in Washington DC.
