Laura is the Program Manager for Training and Education at the Texas School Safety Center (TxSSC), where she has served for the past three years. She began her work at the TxSSC as a School Behavioral Threat Assessment (SBTA) Specialist, supporting schools and districts in their efforts to implement behavioral threat assessment processes and practices. In her current role, Laura leads the development and delivery of training and educational resources designed to support safe and secure learning environments across Texas.

Laura is a former educator with more than 14 years of experience in public education, most recently serving as the Director of Student Services in a mid-sized school district. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice, with an emphasis in Law Enforcement, from the University of Texas at San Antonio and a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from the University of Texas at Arlington.
Her experience across criminal justice, education, student services, behavioral threat assessment, and school safety provides a broad perspective that informs her work supporting schools and districts throughout Texas.
