Joey Melvin is a veteran public safety professional with over two decades of experience in law enforcement, emergency management, and school safety. He currently serves as the Executive Director of Delaware’s School Safety Center, where he leads statewide efforts
to enhance emergency preparedness and ensure the safety of students and staff.

Joey has been nationally recognized for his work as a School Resource Officer and instructor with the National Association of School Resource Officers (NASRO). He previously served as Director of the Center for Safe Schools in Pennsylvania, providing training,
technical assistance, and physical safety assessments to PA schools and Nationwide.

He is a Ph.D. candidate in Criminal Justice Leadership at Liberty University
