Jeffrey Nolan is an education and employment attorney based in Holland & Knight's Boston office who represents, advises, educates and helps clients nationwide manage conflicts, enhance the safety of individuals and environments, and successfully navigate the maze of legal obligations faced by educational institutions and employers. In the behavioral threat assessment portion of his practice, Jeff advises and trains clients on threat assessment practices and helps clients create violence prevention policies and practices. Jeff participated as a subject matter authority in the development of the curriculum for the multiday U.S. Department of Justice-funded program, "Campus Threat Assessment Training: A Multidisciplinary Approach for Institutions of Higher Education," and co-presented that training at 10 locations throughout the United States from 2009 to 2011. Jeff has presented many threat assessment-related programs for the National Association of College and University and the Vermont Legal Issues in Higher Education Conference, contributed to the Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services Information Sharing Guide for K-12 Schools, authored DCJS’ Information Sharing Guide for Higher Education (both regarding the interaction between threat assessment practice and FERPA), and co-authored chapters in the First and Second editions of the International Handbook of Threat Assessment.
