Sammie Wicks works as the Head of U.S. Interventions for Moonshot, where he leverages experiences at the intersection of public safety, public policy, and public health. At Moonshot, Sammie works with states and local communities to build multidisciplinary terrorism and targeted violence prevention infrastructure. At Moonshot, Samme develops and delivers training for violence prevention practitioners, provides case consultation development, and supports other local capacity building efforts. Before joining Moonshot spent 13 years in public safety serving as a law enforcement officer in Tennessee and Colorado and as a Senior Program Manager at the National Policing Institute’s (NPI) Center for Targeted Violence Prevention. At NPI Sammie conducted after-active reviews of critical incidents, program development and evaluation, and terrorism and school safety-related research.
