Community Behavioral Threat Assessment Best Practices
Description

As Behavioral Threat Assessment & Management (BTAM) programs continue to be implemented in communities and schools across the country as a strategy to prevent violence and improve climate, it is more important than ever that attention be paid to the foundational practices that make them effective. In this session, we will discuss what BTAM is (and what it is not) and the evidence supporting its use as well as take a deep dive into some of the operational practices that define successful programs. Specifically, we will explore building a comprehensive program, the BTAM process, case screening, and case management. By implementing these best practices, communities will be better equipped to establish sustainable behavioral threat assessment and management team with standardized threat reporting and assessment protocols.
