Joycie Gonzalez-Meyer, MSW, LCSW, is the School Social Worker for the Dunklin R-5 School District in Jefferson County, MO, and has been the Bright Futures Coordinator for the Dunklin R-5 affiliation since its inception in 2016. She completed her undergraduate and graduate work at the Southern Illinois University of Edwardsville and received her full social worker clinical licensure in 2018. She has dedicated her time at Dunklin R-5 to building a successful school social work program that works with students and families to eliminate barriers that interfere with their educational success. She coordinates the annual back-to-school fair, holiday assistance program, community service day, and numerous partnerships throughout the community. She is a certified trainer in Ruby Payne’s Framework for Understanding Poverty and is passionate about advocating and educating staff regarding social economic disparities in learning and childhood trauma. Prior to her role in education, Joycie served as a community case manager and therapist for families at-risk of family abuse and violence in the St. Louis area.

In her spare time, Joycie enjoys being at home with her husband and daughter along with their 3 dogs. She also enjoys reading, crafting, and crocheting.
