Name
Behavioral and Digital Threat Assessment® (BDTA®) In Action: A Case Study Approach
Description

Join us to gain insight into how integrating Digital Threat Assessment® into every threat assessment process enhances the ability to identify concerns earlier, uncover otherwise hidden risk factors, and develop more comprehensive management plans.

As part of this session, Mike Johnson the Director of School Safety at Hamilton Southeastern Schools will share a real-world case that demonstrates the critical role Behavioral Digital Threat Assessment plays in understanding pathway behaviors, digital influences, and emerging risk enhancers. Drawing from his district's experience with SST's Digital Threat Assessment case consultation process, Mike will examine how concerns involving Nihilistic Violent Extremist (NVE) groups and online radicalization were better assessed through the digital lens, providing crucial context that informed threat assessment and early intervention efforts.

This case highlights an important lesson for all K-12 districts: online radicalization and violent content are not limited to any one demographic or geographic area and can impact suburban, rural, and urban school districts alike.
