Research shows that when students feel connected to school, they experience better mental health, improved behavior, and reduced risk-taking. This session highlights the critical role of staff–student relationships in shaping school safety and climate. Participants will learn how intentional relationship-building can reduce risk factors, improve student outcomes, and create safer school environments. Attendees will explore current research on connection and Positive Childhood Experiences and walk away with practical strategies to strengthen relationships across their school system.
