Laura Frye Weaver is the Founder and CEO of the Door Opening Industry Training Group (DOIT)
and a nationally recognized authority on doors, hardware, life safety, and school security. With
more than 35 years of experience spanning manufacturing, distribution, consulting, education,
and industry leadership, she has dedicated her career to advancing the safe, secure, and codecompliant design and operation of openings.
Laura is an active participant in building code development and serves as Chair of the Partner
Alliance for Safer Schools (PASS) Compliance Committee, where she helps bridge the gap
between school safety objectives, life safety requirements, and code compliance. Through her
work with PASS, industry organizations, school safety stakeholders, and educational institutions,
she advocates for practical, research-informed approaches to creating safer learning
environments.
