Unified Life Safety Systems: Turning PASS Layers into Real-World School Safety Readiness
Description
School safety works only when its many components—physical security, technology, emergency operations, communications, and culture—are connected, owned, tested, and understood by those who must use them under stress. This session introduces the Unified Life Safety Systems framework, using the PASS Guidelines to help districts break down silos and link assessment, governance, access control, communications, video, emergency planning, drills, and sustainment into a coordinated system. Participants will leave with practical strategies to identify gaps, assign ownership, support funding decisions, and verify that systems will perform when it matters most.
