Digital Footprints Along the Pathway to Violence
Description

Nearly 90% of today's threats are communicated digitally; therefore, an accurate assessment of risk cannot be determined without assessing a threat maker’s digital behavioral baseline. This training will highlight worrisome behaviors frequently identified by SST Threat Analysts on platforms like TikTok, Discord, Snapchat, and Telegram. Participants will further learn how to navigate and assess darker corners of the digital world, such as 4chan, Sanctioned Suicide, and Watchpeopledie.tv.

Digital Threat Assessment® (DTA®) training, developed by SST, imparts direct skills and tools, implemented immediately, to identify digital leakage of an individual(s) on the pathway to violence.

Through this interactive training, participants discover how to apply similar skills and tools implemented by SST’s Threat Analysts when navigating case scenarios. While demonstrating an approach for dealing with threat-related behaviors, attendees will learn how to explore best practices for identifying and documenting worrisome digital leakage, and how to discern whether the individual has access to the means to carry out a threat.

As a result of this training, participants will be better equipped to reduce the potential for violence within their communities.
