Officer Jason Boots has been in law enforcement for over twenty-three years. He began his career in 2002 working as a correctional officer for the Sevier County Sheriff's Office He served there for fifteen years as a patrol officer, narcotics detective, persons and property crimes detective including special victims' investigations and homicides.

Officer Boots moved on to the Moab City Police Department and also served as a patrol officer and detective quickly promoting to the rank of Sergeant. He supervised the Narcotics Unit, Traffic Unit, Internal Investigations Unit, Code Enforcement Unit and Animal Control Services Unit during his time there.

In 2020 he moved his family to Northern Utah to serve in the Sandy City Police Department. He is currently assigned to the Sandy City Police Youth Unit as a Detective and School Resource Officer. He's served in that capacity for four years assigned to the middle schools for the Canyons School District in Sandy City. He is actively involved in the Canyons School District Peer Court both referring students for Peer Court services and acting as a mentor and advisor for students serving as judges in the court and students appearing before the court.

In his free time, he enjoys hunting and the outdoors, ATV’s with his family and riding his motorcycle.
