Trish Kilpin was appointed as Director of the Wisconsin DOJ’s Office of School Safety (OSS) in 2022 where she provides comprehensive school safety guidance to Wisconsin schools including consultations and trainings on Behavioral Threat Assessment and Management, threat reporting, mitigating trauma in school safety drills, and school crisis response and recovery. Trish provides guidance to meet the unique needs of schools impacted by traumatic events and support their ongoing recovery. Prior to serving as Director of WI DOJ OSS, she was a school social worker for over 30 years. She was named 1997 Wisconsin School Social Worker’s Association’s School Social Worker of the Year, 2021 Wisconsin Teacher of the Year, and is the recipient of the 2024 Virginia Hart Award in recognition of outstanding service by a woman in state government. She is a certified National Association of School Psychologists (NASP) PREPaRE Trainer, a National Threat Evaluation and Reporting Office (NTER) Master Trainer and an Association for Threat Assessment Professionals Certified Threat Manager (CTM).
