Cedric Calhoun, FASAE, CAE currently serves as the CEO of DHI and the Door Security and Safety Foundation. Before joining DHI/DSSF in 2021, he served as an independent consultant using his 20 plus years of marketing, business development, membership and volunteer relations experience, serving associations and corporations. He is a go-to expert in creating organizational success through financial strategy creation, program growth and assessment, product management, and organizational change and planning.
His experience began in 1995 as Membership Director for the Council for Advancement and Support of Education, an association of over 1,100 colleges, universities and independent schools around the globe. From 2007-2018, Cedric served as the executive director of the Alliance of Hazardous Materials Professionals (2007-2015) and the National Association of Enrolled Agents (2015-2018). Through organizational transformation both organizations achieved long-term sustainability through revenue growth, increased engagement from members and industry, governance restructuring and new product development and delivery. Before becoming an association executive, Cedric served as a marketing manager responsible for retail ventures and outside sales and promotion for a sports marketing company.
Cedric earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology (business concentration) from Wake Forest University. He also earned the Certified Association Executive (CAE) designation, is an alum of the ASAE Diversity Executive Leadership Program (DELP) and was named to the 2008 class of ASAE Fellows.
